Official statistics released today by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) display that fresh car registrations for the month of August, were down 21% (Five,754) when compared to (7,297) August 2016, while fresh cars registrations year to date are down 10% (124,711) on the same period last year (138,504).
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today issued the Q2 Motor Industry Review of two thousand seventeen in association with DoneDeal, along with the SIMI official one hundred seventy two registration statistics.
The review outlined that fresh car sales in the very first half of two thousand seventeen (totalled 91,185) declined by 10% when compared to fresh cars sold during the very first half of 2016. The SIMI/DoneDeal report highlighted that a combination of factors, including rising housing, rental and health insurance costs and uncertainty surrounding Brexit, were affecting disposable income spending and making consumers cautious about purchasing big-ticket items such as fresh cars.
