The 2nd generation Ford Figo has been launched in India. The fresh Ford Figo retains the strengths of the outgoing model (Read: Frugality, Robustness and Affordability), along with showcasing Ford’s Kinetic design language and boasting of an updated list of features. Figo has been instrumental in turning the fortunes of Ford in India and many other emerging markets. And in all probability, the upcoming model would carry forward the legacy. The fresh two thousand fifteen Ford Figo has been launched and will be followed by the launch of the all-new Endeavour SUV.

The India-spec version of the hatchback is likely to feature a 1.Two litre 4-cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine and the 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, TDCI turbo diesel motor. These engines are suggested with the Figo Aspire sedan as well. Additionally, thehatchback also gets a 1.Five litre petrol with a dual clutch 6-speed auto.

Until now, Ford has been following a one model strategy wherein they concentrate majorly on one car from their line-up. It began with the Ikon and continued on with the Fiesta, Figo and now the Ecosport. However, with the advent of the fresh Ford Figo the company has another shot at switching to a more balanced strategy and concentrating on selling all the models in its stable. Having said that, they will have to certainly concentrate more on the fresh cars i.e Figo Aspire and Figo, but Ecosport is still a very popular car and losing out on that could be catastrophic especially with fresh competition from Maruti and Hyundai right around the corner.
The Fresh Ford Figo could turn out to be the game changer for the company as the car has all the makings of a winner. Good looks combined with a feature-rich package and Ford’s usual sorted out driving dynamics could help them reenter the top of the sales charts lightly. Hammering the Maruti Swift is a tall order no doubt, but the Figo has enough to take on Hyundai Grand i10 and even the Elite i20.
