The Packard motorcar will be featured at the Classic Car Club of America Museum’s two thousand fifteen “Practice,” scheduled for Sunday, June 7th on the campus of the Gilmore Car Museum – home of the CCCA Museum.

Both Total Classic ® and non-Classic Packard automobiles built from one thousand eight hundred ninety nine to one thousand nine hundred fifty eight are welcome. Automobile owners need not be CCCA members to display their cars at the two thousand fifteen “Experience.” In addition to Packard automobiles, Total Classics ® wielded by CCCA members may be displayed on the display field.

“For CCCA members—and Packard enthusiasts—who have not visited the CCCA Museum and Library recently, this is a good year to do so,” said Howard Freedman, CCCA Museum president.“There is truly nothing else like it in the world. This is the only museum faithful solely to Classic automobiles.”

Sunday events, in addition to the Classic automobiles on display, will include a silent auction of unique automobile-related items and a one p.m. presentation by Leslie and Leigh Keno: “Passage Through Time: The Importance of Originality and Preservation in the Art Market and the Historic Car Market.” A narrated awards-drive-by will take place later that afternoon, followed by a post-show farewell supper.

2015 “Experience” attendees will see two fresh museums: the Lincoln Motor Car Heritage Museum and the Cadillac-LaSalle Museum. Attendees may now visit the CCCA Museum, the Gilmore Car Museum, the H.H. Franklin Museum, the Pierce-Arrow Museum, and the Ford Model A Museum. The CCCA Library and the Gilmore Car Museum library are also available by appointment. The CCCA Museum contains not only a fine collection of Total Classic® automobiles but a world class radiator mascot collection.

All weekend events are open to the public, albeit some events will require ticket purchase.

On Friday all museum buildings on the Gilmore Car Museum campus will be open and a barbecue dinner will be held that evening on the museum grounds. On Saturday there will be a driving tour and automotive art display. The tour will depart the museum grounds at about 8:30 a.m. and comeback around Two:30 p.m. The art showcase will proceed through Sunday and will include an introduction to automotive art by artist David Chapple.

At three p.m. on Saturday Dr. Glenn Hamilton will make a special presentation—“The Richard A. Teague Packard Literature Collection: Exposing an Unseen Treasure,” which will concentrate on the extensive collection assembled by this noted automobile designer over four decades. On Saturday evening a gala dinner will be held at the Radisson Plaza in Kalamazoo, preceded by cocktails and a silent auction.
